Declutter your routine.
Organizing is so much more than creating an orderly cabinet or beautiful closet. It’s about setting yourself up for success by setting up your space so that your day runs smoothly. When I look at a client’s home, I’m focused on their daily routine and honing in on what matters to them. Many of us want to be productive and creative, enjoy life and relationships, and health and wellness.
Consider what is standing in the way of you having:
· a serene bedroom to welcome you to the day
· a bathroom and closet that is streamlined for your morning routine
· a kitchen and pantry that are outfitted for making healthy choices
· an office where you can think clearly and work efficiently
· a functional entryway, mudroom, or garage to help get you out the door on a positive note.
Oftentimes it’s clutter in these spaces that clutters up your routine. Organizing can create space and time for what you want to accomplish. So, consider your goals when setting up your space.
In 2018, I wanted to consistently attend cross training classes at a local gym. I figured out what needed to happen from the time I woke up until I went to the gym; staging my bathroom vanity, displaying my workout clothes front and center in the closet, prepping my smoothie ingredients on Sunday, setting an alarm so I don’t forget to put my shoes on when it’s time to head out the door (it saves me when I’m laser focused on a project!). I have been making it to my workout four days a week, most weeks, for seven years. It didn’t happen accidently.
What about you? Could intentional organization help you achieve a goal?
